Job Responsibilities

About Our Agency
The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) is the state agency that plans, develops, coordinates, and funds services for South Carolinians with the severe, lifelong disabilities of:
  • intellectual disability and related disabilities
  • autism spectrum disorder
  • traumatic brain injury
  • spinal cord injury and similar disability
Job Responsibilities
Acts as the Grants Coordinator for the SC Traumatic Brain Injury State Partnership, a federally funded grant program; works in coordination with partner agencies and other organizations to meet grant deliverables; facilities grant activities and assists with grant reporting, as well as measuring grant performance and outcomes; manages other agency grant programs; collects and analyzes data for grant programs to monitor program outcomes and evaluate performance.
  • Acts as the coordinator for the federally funded Traumatic Brain Injury State Partnership Program grant and facilitates completion of grant activities per the project proposal; facilitates grant activities in coordination with partner agencies and organizations in order to meet grant deliverables.
  • Assists with grant, budget, and contract management, as well as grant reporting and evaluation, to include data collection for the Traumatic Brian Injury State Partnership Program grant; analyzes data associated with the grant to monitor performance and track grant deliverables.
  • Attends grantee meetings, participates in workgroups, and assists with communication and outreach as it relates to the grant activities for the Traumatic Brain Injury State Partnership Program grant.
  • Coordinates other grant Programs for DDSN to include development of guidance, review of applications, and managing and monitoring of contracts and deliverables.
  • Develops, coordinates, and executes brain and spinal cord injury awareness and prevention activities.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in public health, psychology, or a related field is preferred. Experience serving or working with people with disabilities, specifically those with a traumatic brain injury (TBI); experience in grant writing, management and grant reporting; experience in data collection and data analysis preferred; experience with procurement and contract processes preferred.
